Job Description

As a Senior Consultant, you will oversee the digital transformation of our project and cost management services across various construction projects, programme and portfolio in multiple sectors (retail, infrastructure, city and places, renewable energy etc.). 

Your expertise will be crucial in implementing digital solutions, whether through off-the-shelf platforms or custom-developed solutions, to enhance efficiency and provide valuable insights through data analytics for both domestic and international clients. 

You will be based in our Tokyo office and be part of our growing digital team. Your key responsibilities will be: 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement: Lead consultations to understand digital requirements and priorities and develop comprehensive digital strategies. 
  2. Project Planning: Oversee the planning and execution of development projects to ensure alignment with client requirements and successful implementation. 
  3. Change Management: Manage digital change initiatives and drive user adoption to ensure seamless integration of new technologies. 
  4. Operation: Oversee system operations and create a digital roadmap to drive continuous improvements for end users. 

In addition to your primary responsibilities, your role will also include the following activities: 

  1. Supporting our internal digital transformation efforts. 
  2. Contributing to the creation of new business opportunities. 
  3. Building relationships with local technology providers to expend on service offering. 

Competencies: 

  • Project/Product management including planning, execution, monitoring and risk (advance) 
  • Ability to develop and implement digital strategies that align with business goals (advance) 
  • Competence in analyzing data to derive actionable insights and improve decision-making 
  • Data interrogation and cleaning (intermediate) 
  • Data mapping and data schemas (intermediate) 
  • Scenario analytics and modelling (basic) 
  • Development of key insights reports based upon analytical findings (intermediate) 
  • System integration (basic) 

System Knowledge 

  • Procore, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud 
  • Business Intelligence 
  • PowerBi/ Tableau or similar (basic to intermediate) 
  • Programming 
  • Python/ R Data (or similar) - (basic to intermediate) 
  • MS Visual Studio or similar; – (intermediate) 
  • MS 365 Power Platform (Apps, Automate) – (intermediate) 
  • Database Development 
  • Microsoft SQL + SSMS – (basic to intermediate) 
  • Azure (Synapse, Machine Learning) – (basic) 

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Degree in Computer/Data Science, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Construction. 
  • Professional Experience: At least 5+ years in construction management, digital consulting, project management, or information technology. 
  • Preferred Experience: 
  • Working in the construction industry. 
  • Roles such as Data Analyst, Digital Consultant, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Project Controls, or Document Control. 
  • Communication Skills: 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese. 
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, autonomous, and strong problem-solving abilities.
