The Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect & Practice Manager to lead our BI Analytics and AI/ML practice, designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Data Fabric, Medallion Architecture, and Oracle Analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and proven experience managing global teams.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a global BI development and analytics team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based BI analytics solutions using Microsoft Data Fabric, Medallion Architecture, and Oracle Analytics platform.
  • Provide strategic leadership in team management, including performance evaluations, professional development, and talent acquisition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data management, governance, security, data privacy, and compliance in Azure and Oracle cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain architecture blueprints, standards, and best practices for Medallion architecture within cloud environments.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Drive technological innovation by staying current with emerging cloud technologies and recommending system enhancements.
  • Lead client-facing discussions and design conversations to understand business requirements and present comprehensive technical solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resources effectively to support project delivery and ongoing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud-based BI analytics solutions.
  • Design and implement AI/ML solutions using Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI service, Azure AI Search, and other relevant technologies.
  • Ensure seamless integration of AI/ML solutions with BI analytics platforms and data pipelines.

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a global team of BI developers, data engineers, architects, and data scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure their growth and success.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, efficiency, and delivery quality.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to align technology strategies with business objectives.

The Requirements

  • 7+ years of work experience in a software development environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a strong emphasis on designing and implementing Azure-based solutions for BI analytics and AI/ML.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Data Fabric technology and Medallion Architecture, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Experience managing a global BI development team, including offshore resources and vendor partners.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Data Analyst Associate, or similar certification in Microsoft Data Analytics is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of Power BI architecture and integration with Synapse Analytics and SQL Server.
  • Experience with Subversion (SVN), Git, Visual Studio, and MS DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and natural language processing.
  • Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and other relevant AI/ML technologies.
  • Familiarity with data science tools and technologies, including Python & R.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
