The Role

As an MBSE Engineer at Tenet3,  you’ll develop cutting-edge MBSE tools and methodologies to support Air Force digital engineering initiatives. You’ll provide hands-on consulting for Air Force programs, helping them navigate digital acquisition, sustainment, and engineering challenges. This role is integral to establishing the Digital Innovation and Integration Center of Excellence (DIICE) at AFIT, requiring a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement MBSE tools, techniques, and workflows to support system design, analysis, verification, and digital twin applications.
  • Consult & advise Air Force programs on MBSE best practices, including model development, data integration, and system architecture.
  • Support DIICE by establishing frameworks, processes, and methodologies for digital acquisition and engineering.
  • Model & simulate complex systems using property graphs, ontologies, SysML, AADL, and leading MBSE tools.
  • Integrate & Automate MBSE techniques into engineering workflows, leveraging advanced software solutions.
  • Collaborate & Present research findings, technical solutions, and best practices to stakeholders, leadership, and at industry conferences.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering) with at least 2 years of hands-on digital engineering experience.
  • MBSE Expertise: Practical experience with SysML, AADL, property graphs, ontologies, and modeling tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, OSATE, MagicDraw.
  • Programming & Automation: Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++/Java for MBSE model automation, data analysis, and toolchain development.
  • Software Development: Familiarity with agile methodologies, DevSecOps, API development, and integration of MBSE models into digital engineering ecosystems.
  • Data & Integration: Experience working with linked data, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and semantic modeling to improve model interoperability.
  • Cloud & Computing: Understanding of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms, and HPC for MBSE applications.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical concepts.
  • Security Clearance: Must be eligible for a DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.

Salary for this position will range from $75,000- $100,000, depending on education and experience.
