The Position 

Athens Technology Center is looking for a qualified AI Engineer to join our AI team. You will be a member of a cross-functional Agile team consisting of AI/ML engineers, software developers and DevOps specialists. You will be involved in designing, deploying, maintaining and optimizing AI/ML solutions in the scope of both applied research and commercial projects.  

This includes working with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and traditional Machine Learning techniques to develop intelligent systems for various applications. 

 Responsibilities 

• Implement and test scalable AI/ML solutions in backend environments, ensuring integration with existing systems
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Generative AI, LLMs, and classical ML, identifying opportunities to apply them in research and commercial projects
• Design, develop, and optimize AI/ML systems tailored to business needs
• Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational workflows to support AI-driven applications

 Requirements     

• Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or a related role
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Neural Networks, including both traditional ML and Generative AI/LLMs
• Strong understanding of modern API design and RESTful principles for AI system integration
• Experience with version control systems like Git (e.g. Bitbucket) for collaborative development
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to document and present technical concepts effectively

Additional experience in any of the following fields is a plus

• Experience building AI models using Keras or PyTorch
• Relevant experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Hands-on experience with Transformers and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for AI-driven search and knowledge retrieval
• Specialized knowledge in cutting-edge AI technologies, including LLMs and multi-agent systems, demonstrating a commitment to staying at the forefront of advancements
• Prior experience working with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized AI deployments
• Familiarity with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies in AI/ML development workflows
