Data Scientist, Retail Sales

OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic Retail Sales Data Scientist to join our growing team.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with over 5 years of experience to manage statistical models and optimization engines developed in Python, PySpark, and SQL. The role involves working with Databricks and Azure, requiring proficiency in GIT and experience deploying CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to effectively convey complex outcomes to a business audience.

Responsibilities Include:
•    Data Pipeline Design: Design and build high-performance data pipelines to support data science projects
•    Data Preparation: Prepare and transform big datasets for advanced analytics models 
•    Data Processing and Analysis: Work with Databricks or similar platform to build and maintain data environments 
•    Manage and Optimize Models: Develop and optimize statistical models using Python, PySpark, and SQL 
•    CI/CD Pipeline Deployment: Utilize GIT for source code versioning and deploy CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration 
•    Communication: Effectively communicate complex analytical outcomes to business stakeholders 
•    Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to understand needs and develop impactful analytics solutions 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• 5+ years of experience in data science 
• Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, and GIT 
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline deployment and cloud platforms like Azure 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex outcomes to a business audience 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
•  A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline is preferred
• Experience in agile environments and collaborating with multiple business stakeholders 
• Familiarity with Big Data platforms, distributed computing, and software engineering best practices
• Advanced knowledge in machine learning techniques 
• Experience with tools such as Jupyter, Pycharm/VScode, Hadoop, Oracle, and MySQL is beneficial 
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and command of the English language
