The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
 

Pay Range: $88,300.00 - $132,400.00

Job Description

Western Governors University (WGU) is seeking a Senior Product Data Analyst to enhance the student experience through data-driven insights and strategies. As part of the Education Technology (EdTech) team, you’ll support initiatives that improve engagement and outcomes for products like the student portal, course pages, and WGU mobile app. Current priorities include mapping the student journey, increasing app adoption, and optimizing retention strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze product and user data to uncover trends and inform strategic decisions.

  • Develop KPIs, build dashboards, and present visual reports to communicate product performance.

  • Design and evaluate A/B tests to assess the impact of new features.

  • Engage stakeholders to define data needs and translate roadmap requirements into technical solutions.

  • Monitor student engagement across platforms (e.g., portal, mobile app) to optimize adoption and retention.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX and product stakeholders, to enhance functionality.

  • Utilize tools like Pendo to gather and assess user feedback for product enhancements.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

  • 6+ years of related experience, including 4+ years in product analytics and 2+ years working with Databricks, SQL, or other Lakehouse platforms.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI) and web/mobile analytics platforms (e.g., Pendo, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Amplitude).

  • Skilled in querying complex datasets and presenting insights through Excel, PowerPoint, and data storytelling.

  • Expertise in A/B testing, cohort analysis, and survey feedback.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate across teams, and drive data-informed improvements.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Python or R.

  • Product management experience.

  • Product analytics certification or an advanced degree in analytics.
