Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain AI-enhanced search capabilities across the DoD's CDAO Search Portfolio, including GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and the new YETI semantic search API. As Full Stack Software Engineer, you will develop AI-enabled search applications and support ML model implementation.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Must be within 50-mile radius of Washington DC metro area (Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington).

Responsibilities

Develop AI-based software solutions
Build front and backend components
Maintain common libraries and tools
Support production applications
Work with clients and requirements owners
Develop software design strategies
Support rapid AI prototyping
Document requirements and specifications
Optimize software performance
Stay current with AI architectures and trends

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree + 5-7 years experience OR Master's degree + 3 years experience
Programming experience with Python, JavaScript, and Java
Experience with React/Vue and backend frameworks (Node.js, Spring, Django, Flask)
Experience with Agile development methodologies
DevSecOps experience with CI/CD tooling
Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
Familiarity with SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL
Experience with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch and Neo4J
DoDD 8140 IAT Level III preferred
