Job Description

RESPEC is an IT consulting and services company that seeks a Software Developer who will provide support to the Indian Health Service Software Engineering and Support Services (SESS) federal contract. The individual will work in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment and is responsible for owning and supporting multiple project priorities. This role will be client-facing; thus, the candidate must have the ability to interact successfully with internal and external clients to understand client needs and resolve issues.  The desired location for this position is Albuquerque, NM, but will consider remote work arrangement for qualified applicant. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research;
  • Collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software;
  • Determines computer user needs;
  • Advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; and
  • Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (technical discipline preferred).
    • Minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
    • May substitute Bachelor’s degree with 11 years of industry experience or Master’s degree with 6 years of industry experience.
    •  Possess detail-oriented and good problem-solving skills.
    • Team player who works well with clients and colleagues at all levels.
    • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work on stringent deadlines.
    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of Indian Health Resource and Patient Management Systems, or any other major electronic health records system.
    • Advanced SQL and programming experience with Python and/or Scala.
    • Experience in leveraging DevOps and DataOps tools and principles in delivery.
    • Experience in developing CI/CD processes and procedures with teams in delivery.
    • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source-control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
    • Understanding of and ability to explain complex technical concepts.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with the skill to prioritize projects.
    • Proven ability to work effectively on a remote/distributed team.
