About SAP VT/STAR Program  

The Global Vocational Training (VT) / Student Training and Rotation (STAR) program offers a unique opportunity to combine academic learning with hands-on industry experience at SAP, the world's leading business software provider. This program will jump-start your career by allowing you to immediately apply your academic knowledge in a real-world environment. Our well-rounded program supports both personal and professional growth. Unlike most internships, this program allows students to continue their studies at university without taking a break or needing to graduate first. Upon graduation, you will have opportunities to apply for open positions within SAP and potentially become a valued member of our team. As an intern, you'll be part of the Global VT/STAR program, which operates in 14 countries and includes approximately 1,300 students.

 

Education and qualifications

We require that you meet the core competencies and skills listed below. 

  • Will be graduating in Feb. 2026, Aug. 2026, or Feb. 2027 (Is a Must)
  • Course work in Database, Data Structures, Operating Systems (Linux), Algorithms, etc. 
  • Experience in one or more programming languages - Python (preferred)
  • Any practical project or work experience on LLM-based application development using LangChain is highly preferred
  • Analytical skills combined with the ability to work on complex topics is a plus
  • An open-minded, problem-solving attitude, resilience, and positive spirit even under challenging conditions
  • Any project or course work experience with Docker, K8s, Containerization is a plus
  • Intermediate communication skills in English (Fluent is a plus)

 

Perspectives

SAP Labs Korea's Vocational Training Program provides an extensive array of opportunities for continual learning and career advancement. Notably, the program includes a ‘rotation’ system that allows you to participate in three different projects or teams within the organization. This facilitation of diverse experiences is designed to provide an enriching and comprehensive understanding of the business environment, which in turn promotes both personal and professional development among students. If you are selected, your first field of rotation will be HANA Cloud Service.

HANA Cloud Service team is contributing diverse cloud services in including data store and cloud observability topics for internal/operations and customers, which need to focus even more on overall quality, agility, and efficiency of Cloud operations to operate enterprise cloud environment, which keeps growing in terms of landscapes and adoptions. Our team is now even more focusing on automation topics by using natural language to execute the cloud operations like incident management, and certain capability for analyzing complex database issues by leveraging internal observability data.

 

Here is the example list of project topics:

  • Enhance and evaluate operation automation tool to cover multiple incident scenarios (e.g. network issue, zone outage)
  • Leverage internal observability data to automatically identify HANA Cloud database issues and predict them to alert to end users

That’s where YOU come in.

 

As a VT/STAR student, you will be responsible to:

  • Successfully complete an 18-month program that strengthens a foundation for a successful developer/researcher career at SAP.
  • Participate in experiential learning opportunities and acquire a wide variety of business, project and SAP solution skills while working with emerging and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Receive on-the-job training under the mentorship of a senior developer or researcher colleague to gain real business experience and acquire the skills.

The program will enrich your knowledge of SAP as well as give you the professional experience to be ready to serve our customers. Your official start date at SAP is July 7th, 2025 and the total program period is 1 year 6 months. During your semester break, you will work full-time(40 hours per week) at SAP. During the semester, you will work on part-time (20 hours per week) or full-time at the company. You will be able to schedule your working time flexibly in accordance with your university schedule and the requirements of your department. You can apply for permanent positions after the completion of your studies and after half-completing this program (9 months), either in one of our business teams or in one of our graduate or Academy programs. If you get accepted, you can be converted into permanent employee by completing this program earlier than 18 months.

 

The program provides maximum support for internships through the university-operated field practicum program(대학 현장실습 프로그램/학점인정 프로그램), allowing you to earn university credit.

 

Hiring Process

  • Coding Test and Interviews: During April or May 2025
  • Job Offered: Early June 2025
