Senior Full-stack Engineer, Data Platform

Focused on developing products and services for the digital assets sector, Bullish has rewired the traditional exchange to benefit asset holders, enable traders and increase market integrity. Reports to:

The successful candidate for this role will become part of a global team of engineers tasked with implementing a data platform that supports business intelligence and AI use cases. The seniority of the role is dependent on experience and the candidate's value proposition.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Build the necessary infrastructure for optimal storage, extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and big data technologies.

• Build the necessary infrastructure and microservices to create AI-driven products for internal and external clients.

• Liaise directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and action on feedback.

• Consistently identify bottlenecks and bugs using test automation and profiling.

• Consistently identify cost reductions.

• Maintain code quality, organization, and best practices.

• Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.

• Working as part of a Global (Hong Kong, UK) team.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Strong sense of ownership and ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

• Familiarity with big data technologies and data lake ecosystems, such as BigQuery, Databricks, and Snowflake.

• Proficient in SQL.

• Understanding of the pros and cons of various AI models.

• Knowledge of essential packages and tools for data engineering.

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.

• Experience with databases such as Redis, Postgres and MongoDB.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies and coding standards.

• Familiarity with standard SDLC practices and tools for build, test, and deployment.

Bonus Experience:

• Hands-on experience working with cloud technologies.

• Familiarity with Airflow, DBT, Kubernetes, Istio and Docker.

• Familiarly with middleware such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
