We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

What you need to know about the role:
We are seeking intelligent and motivated engineers to join PayPal Compliance platform team, which is a core competency within PayPal. You will be building the most cutting-edge platform focusing on auto decisioning and process automations. The platform is heavily AI enabled/big data driven automation.

Job Description:

Your way to impact:

• Build solutions that improve efficiency and automation in Compliance processes through leveraging generative AI technologies.
• Develop platforms that will enable us to bring high quality, mature solutions to market quickly.

Your day-to-day:

• Develop and deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute clean code and documentation that adhere to critical non-functional engineering requirements (Availability, Security, Performance, Scalability, Self-Serviceability, and Observability).
• Communicate effectively with all technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders.
• Work closely with partners in China time zone every day.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry standards, tools, and technologies related to development and generative AI (RAG, agents, reasoning, etc.)

What do you need to bring:

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience with 1+ years in designing and building AI solutions.
• Strong proficiency in software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
• Experience with Big Data technologies, such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Spark, Kafka, graph DBs, etc.
• Knowledge of generative AI technologies, such as LLMs, RAG, ReAct, agents, etc.
• Ability and willingness to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Passion for innovation and delivering high quality solutions and compelling experiences with new technology.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$72700 to $176000
