The Research Assistant 2 will be working in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with Professor Zhao on Identifying Pain Points with Data Mining and NLP.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying Pain Points with Data Mining and NLP.

  • Developing surrogate LCA models to fill in data gaps for components lacking full environmental data.

  • Clustering for Component Classification using unsupervised ML techniques, such as k-means clustering.

  • Implementing ML-driven dynamic LCA models that simulate multiple lifecycle scenarios.

Education and Experience:

  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering or related area

  • Experience in applying data mining techniques to the extensive Bill of Materials databas

  • Experience in ML-Powered Surrogate LCA Models.

  • Familiar with Dynamic LCA and Sensitivity Analysis

  • Familiar with Schneider Electric's LCA data management

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
