Title : Data Specialist (QUADS COE)

The Data Excellence Specialist will play a versatile role in supporting the QUADS Data Science Team, functioning as both a data collection and data quality assurance expert. In this position, you will have the opportunity to (1) build strong relationships with data scientists, (2) assist the team with data collection and labeling, (3) address daily data and dashboard issues, (4) conduct data quality checks, and (5) propose enhancements for automating data collection and quality assurance processes. This role offers valuable exposure to a wide range of topics relevant to CMOs, collaboration with peers across various business units and practices at Gartner, and other Centers of Excellence (COEs). Additionally, it provides a platform to apply and enhance your communication and technical skills.

What you will do:

  • Conduct Manual Data Collection from Various Sources: Regularly gather data from a diverse range of sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.          
  • Provide Data Labels: Accurately label data sets to facilitate machine learning processes.
  • Monitor Dashboards and Perform Validation Queries: Continuously oversee data dashboards to ensure they reflect accurate and up-to-date information. Execute validation queries to identify any inconsistencies or anomalies in data patterns.
  • Serve as an Expert on Available Data Sets:  Become a key resource for the team by developing an in-depth understanding of our data sets.
  • Triage and Prioritize Incoming Requests: Efficiently manage and prioritize incoming data requests, ensuring that urgent issues are addressed swiftly.
  • Identify Novel Methods for Data Collection and Quality Checks: Collaborate with the team to explore and implement innovative approaches to data collection and automated quality checks.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to perform gracefully under pressure and meet inflexible or shifting deadlines
  • Positive, diplomatic, objective solution-oriented approach to problems
  • Ability to perform as part of a global team as well as individually
  • Ability to prioritize effectively & communicate with stakeholders at various levels
  • Ability to clearly explain (both via written and verbal communication) data concerns raised by stakeholders to increase confidence in data health
  • Attentive, focused and meticulous mentality; ability to quickly context switch & pay attention to detail
  • A willingness to be flexible as product needs and priorities change/evolve over time

Qualifications:

  • College degree in a related discipline
  • 1-2 years of experience in a data quality, data analyst, or database management role
  • Some experience working with reporting tools such as PowerBI
  • Expertise in SQL with experience in data validation preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets)
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in python
