Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks during summer. By applying to this position, your application will be considered for all locations we hire for in the United States.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Systems Development Engineers are “Builders”, developers of unique technology solutions to address business and customer problems. You will build internal and external services within the AWS software systems and be responsible for understanding the operational impact of changes.

- Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or majors relating to these fields with a graduation date between December 2025 - September 2026
- Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience with open-source technologies like Linux, Spring or React
- Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems
- Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $42.88/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $88.94/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Basic Qualifications
- Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or majors relating to these fields with a graduation date between December 2025 - September 2026
- Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Preferred Qualifications
- Are enrolled in or have completed a Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent- Experience with open-source technologies like Linux, Spring or React
- Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems
- Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes
