The Role: 

We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Development to lead and scale our engineering team. This leader will drive the design, development, and deployment of our Agentic AI application platform while ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate has expertise in Agentic/Gen AI, SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.

This role is based out of our Palo Alto, CA office, and an Onsite interview is required as part of the process (with some flexibility to WFH).

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the software development strategy aligned with Aisera’s business goals.
• Oversee the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and Gen AI based enterprise SaaS solutions.
• Drive architectural decisions, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers, architects, and developers.
• Own end-to-end software development processes, ensuring high-quality and timely product releases.
• Implement Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices to optimize development workflows.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, and Customer Success teams to align development with business needs.
• Establish and track KPIs for software performance, scalability, and customer experience.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and industry best practices.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies in Agentic AI, cloud computing, and security.

Basic Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in leadership role.
• Proven ability to scale engineering teams and drive execution in fast-paced environments.
• Strong experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), Gen AI/Agentic AI and enterprise SaaS.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Python etc.).
• Deep understanding of microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Understanding of relational databases as well as NoSQL data stores.
• Experience in Agile development, CI/CD, incident management, and DevOps best practices.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Startup experience
• Enterprise SaaS experience
• Experience with machine learning and AI applications.
