Job Description

Pay Rate: $20.00 to a maximum of $25.00 Per Hour.

Position Purpose: 

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.

Program Dates: June 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025.

Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in at least one career function from Corporate, Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain or Technology.

The ENGINEERING INTERN role within the organization will take on projects from initiation to completion during the extent of their time with the team. The successful candidate will have visibility across many functional groups (engineering, operations, maintenance, etc.) and will continuously support optimizing processes, standard operating procedures, and assist with process improvement projects.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
  • Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
  • May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas in order to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
  • May be asked to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses.
  • Produces findings and draws conclusions from analyses. Makes oral and written recommendations to management.
  • Ensures all assigned engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies, standards, and objectives; establish and/or update engineering standards and specifications as needed.
  • Work with senior engineers to develop tools for data analysis, process optimization, and efficiency tracking.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
  • Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies.

Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.

Candidates may support any of the Veolia North America business functions.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Graduate student with a strong background in statistics, environmental engineering or science, hydraulic modeling, and big data management, ideally with senior status in a related field. Familiarity with Python, R, dashboard development, and water and wastewater treatment processes, including distribution systems.
  • 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills / Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Physical Requirements:

  • Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the internship.
