We are seeking an experienced and creative Head of Data & AI Architecture to lead our enterprise-wide data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. This role will be instrumental in shaping a scalable, secure, and value-driven data landscape that accelerates digital transformation and business innovation.

What you’ll be doing

As Head of Data and AI Architecture, you will lead a team of data and AI architects (3-5 including third-party personnel), collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver significant AI solutions and data insights.

Will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product delivery, programme management, PMO, development, engineering, security, Cloud, and senior IT and business leadership, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with best practices in architecture governance.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive data, AI, and ML architecture that aligns with business objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and support for digital transformation initiatives.
• Driving the strategy and design of integrated data platforms to enable advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and seamless data interoperability across the enterprise.
• Establishing and governing enterprise-wide information architecture, ensuring data consistency, accessibility, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Leading the creation of a robust Master Data Management (MDM) framework, providing a single, accurate, and unified view of critical business data to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Leading the development of AI architecture, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and sustainable.
• Ensureing compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies related to data, AI, and ML.
• Staing abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data analytics, AI, and ML. Evaluate and select AI tools, data platforms, and vendors to enhance innovation and improve solution delivery.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team consistently adopts the latest technologies, methodologies, and best practices. Champion the adoption of AI and data-driven culture across the organization.

What we’re looking for

This role requires collaborating with and managing senior stakeholders, including VPs, and MDs across the Carlsberg Group. The role demands advanced stakeholder management skills to build solid relationships, align priorities, and provide clear communication with key decision-makers.

Qualifications we expect from our future Head of Data & AI Architecture:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A master’s or PhD is beneficial.
• 15+ years of experience in the data domain such as data analytics, business intelligence, ML, data governance, data mesh etc., with the last 5 years in a leadership position.
• Verified experience in leading and managing a team of data & AI architects
• Extensive experience in AI/ML models, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and other advanced AI techniques.
• Experience with data engineering, cloud technologies, data platforms and analytics (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, ADF, Data Lake, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Power BI)
• Experience in Master Data Management (MDM) and data governance practices.
• Solid understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks
• Highly proficient senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with other senior business leaders.
• Deep knowledge of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and industry standards.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day execution and delivery.
• Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
• Experience with digital transformation in FMCG or related industries, including cloud migrations, data analytics, and business process automation.
• Skilled in managing innovation in data and AI, identifying key use cases, and partnering with senior stakeholders in business to deliver measurable value.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to run data and AI projects from conception to finalization.
• Advanced certifications in AI, data science, and machine learning (e.g., Google AI, Microsoft Azure AI, CoPilot, AWS Certified Machine Learning) are beneficial  
• Familiarity with emerging AI/ML frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and data visualization tools
