BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provides leadership and direction in planning, building, and maintaining East Tennessee Children’s analytics platform. Develops predictive analytics using data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities to meet the needs of a clinical and consumer driven digital healthcare system. Responsible for developing and communicating an enterprise data management strategy to include data governance, overseeing the development and deployment of the data analytics platform, and partnering with business leaders to establish an enterprise operating model for data and analytics. Accountable for executing a portfolio of projects to improve data systems, drive data-led insights and enable analytics self-service capabilities across the organization. Build and implement Robotic Processing Automation capabilities (RPA) to streamline enterprise operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

License/Certification Required: No

Minimum Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience working in analytics, data management, including creating partnerships implementing predictive analytics, data governance, and understanding the underlying technologies needed to enable data innovation.   
  • 5 years of prior management experience.
  • 3 years of experience driving detailed architecture of analytics platforms, machine learning, artificial intelligence and predictive insights by aggregating big data unstructured, structured and IOT data streams to provide actionable business and clinical insights, including a strong interest in process automation. .
  • Experience overseeing the delivery of data, business intelligence and analytics system solutions.  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Experience with deployment of Robotic Process Automation Software
  • Experience working with internal users and third parties to identify data requirements and leading the project to successful completion.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Service oriented.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Is proactive and makes routine decisions independently.
  • Must have above average problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint and other computer applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Defines data strategy for the enterprise, in collaboration with Senior Leadership and operational business leaders.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation with data science, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence that delivers ROI.
  • Defines the data technology roadmap, including platforms, tools, and services.
  • Define, build and communicate a common data vocabulary and data dictionary across all business units.
  • Build data pipelines for analytics, data ingestion, and ETL; and data repository management. 
  • Deliver business intelligence and advanced analytics reporting capabilities through automation and visual dashboards.       
  • Coordinates, develops, and implements project plans to deliver these services. Maintains open communication with other technology teams and planning committees to assure efficient processes are implemented and to coordinate projects with overlapping responsibilities.
  • Tracks and tests new technology and new techniques. Establishes procedures to support research and development activities to determine the suitability of new technology and procedures to the ETCH environment.
  • Serves as advisor to hospital-wide technology committees and other ad hoc project committees. Works closely with department heads to coordinate information and activities.
  • Stays current with technological developments and management practices, which involves reading publications, subscribing to Internet lists, attending conferences and workshops, and meeting with colleagues.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the Data Governance Committee.
  • Prepares annual budget and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 1-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
