Data Science Engineer

We are looking for a Data Science Engineer to join an international technology company specializing in advanced technologies and solutions in the energy and fueling sector.
The organization develops innovative systems that support fuel retail operations, alternative energy management, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Their portfolio includes cloud-based analytics platforms, automated monitoring tools, and integrated payment solutions.
 RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to understand business challenges and related data.
  
• Prepare data for modeling, including ingestion, cleansing, and transformation.
  
• Develop and implement cloud-based data processing pipelines.
  
• Store and manage data in a scalable, cost-effective manner.
  
• Stay current with the latest data engineering technologies and recommend appropriate tools for various tasks.
  
• Communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  
• Participate in demos, project reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  
• Mentor and coach team members with an interest in data engineering.
  
• Continuously explore innovative methodologies to enhance SaaS solution development.
  

Requirements

• Passion for solving real-world challenges with a proactive and innovative mindset.
  
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, efficient data pipelines to address business needs.
  
• Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL.
  
• Strong expertise in RDBMS and data modeling using Oracle or MSSQL/Azure SQL.
  
• Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, CosmosDB, or MongoDB.
  
• Experience with ETL and orchestration tools like Airflow, Luigi, Beam, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Factory.
  
• Cloud computing experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure (or another major cloud provider).
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  
• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
  
• Educational background in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  
• Experience with streaming data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Spark Streaming, Azure Stream Analytics, Flink, or Samza.
  
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitLab.
  
• Interest and/or experience with data analytics and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Tibco Spotfire.
  
• Understanding of retail fuel and energy sector technologies.
  
• Basic familiarity with C#/.NET, PL/SQL, or T-SQL is an advantage.
  
• Fluent English (C1 level or higher).
