NV5Geospatial is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geospatial Data Engineer to lead our geospatial analytics and data management efforts. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in geospatial data handling, integration, and analysis, with a focus on developing and maintaining scalable data solutions to support enterprise-level analytics. This position requires strong technical and leadership skills to optimize geospatial workflows, ensure data integrity, and enhance decision-making processes for government and defense agencies. An active TS/SCI polygraph security clearance is required.

Work Environment:

  • Location:  Must be located near St. Louis, MO. This is an onsite position at Scott AFB. 
  • Travel up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Geospatial Data Management: Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geospatial Data Manager to oversee and manage the collection, processing, storage, and dissemination of geospatial data across various missions. Oversee the acquisition, integration, processing, and maintenance of geospatial data to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Lead the development and optimization of geospatial data workflows, ensuring data integrity and adherence to industry standards across enterprise systems. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other Air Force units, government agencies, and external partners to share geospatial data and coordinate joint efforts. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including intelligence and logistics teams, to standardize data flows and ensure reliable access to geospatial products. 
  • Data Warehousing & Integration: Manage and modernize data repositories, including the implementation of automated processes using AWS and other cloud-based solutions to streamline data updates and ensure real-time accuracy. 
  • Quality Assurance: Design and enforce quality control procedures for geospatial datasets, ensuring consistency and compliance with policy requirements. 
  • Data Analytics & Insights: Support decision-making by developing geospatial dashboards and web applications that provide real-time insights to key stakeholders. 
  • Project Leadership: Oversee geospatial analysis projects, manage schedules, and provide detailed insights to drive operational improvements and meet contractual requirements. 
  • Policy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD), and federal policies, standards, and regulations regarding geospatial data. 
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging geospatial technologies and methodologies to improve data management practices and operational efficiency. 
  • Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to users and stakeholders on best practices in geospatial data handling and analysis. 

Qualifications

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. 

 

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Master’s in Data Science, or related field (preferred) 
  • Bachelor’s in Geospatial Information Systems Technology or equivalent 
  • Experience: 
  • 5+ years of experience in geospatial analysis, data management, or intelligence reporting. 
  • Proven track record in managing sensitive data, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with government agencies. 
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, FME, AWS, Azure, and other cloud computing platforms. 
  • Technical Skills: 
  • Strong proficiency in geospatial software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and programming languages (SQL, Python, R). 
  • database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle Spatial), and geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoTIFF, KML). 
  • Experience with data integration, warehousing, and geospatial formats/schemas. 
  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI (required). 

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) processes.
  • Experience in managing and securing classified information. 
  • Experience with USAF, specifically Air Mobility Command  
  • Familiarity with Air Force and DoD geospatial data standards and protocols
