GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

As a Data Scientist, this role will need to have expertise in Azure Machine Learning, SQL, and knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI. Knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization tools, such as Tableau, is essential. This position will work on supporting existing use cases on Azure ML, deploying self-service data science tools, and driving innovation within the group through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, including Generative AI and Generative BI. The data scientist position will be reporting to the Data Solutions IT Manager.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Existing Use Cases: Maintain, enhance, and optimize machine learning models and workflows currently deployed on Azure ML.
  • Promote Self-Service: Deploy and evangelize self-service analytics and data science tools, empowering business users to explore data and derive insights independently.
  • Foster Innovation: Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for leveraging advanced analytics and AI tools, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Generative AI and BI Initiatives: Lead and support the adoption of Generative AI models and Generative BI capabilities, identifying practical applications and ensuring successful deployment.
  • Cloud Ecosystem Expertise: Seamlessly integrate data science solutions across Azure ML, GCP, and Vertex AI, ensuring interoperability and optimal performance.
  • Training and Enablement: Conduct workshops and training sessions to build data literacy and empower internal teams with data science and AI knowledge.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.

EXPERTISE:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure ML, SQL.
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of GCP services, including Vertex AI a plus
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud environments is a plus
  • Knowledge of Power BI or a similar data visualization tool such as Tableau is a plus
  • Experience with MLOps practices and tools for scalable machine learning.
  • Understanding of data governance and security in multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI frameworks and their practical applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Certification in Azure, GCP, or other relevant platforms is a plus.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

  • The Data Scientist will collaborate with the data team and engage with stakeholders across the Manitou Group, regardless of their location

 

SALARY RANGE:

  • Base Salary Range between $64,000 - $88,000 per year, plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

                     *Actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location

 

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

  • This position is located in West Bend, WI
  • Limited travel domestic & International
