Your Opportunity

We have two (2) exciting, fixed-term opportunities as Workforce Optimisation Analyst.  These roles are ideal for recent graduates looking to launch their career in workforce optimisation and public transport, providing a supportive environment to develop essential skills and knowledge.

As a Workforce Optimisation Analyst, you will create job card solutions to support the Cross River Rail program, Network Closures, Master Train Plan, and Concept Modelling, utilising the HASTUS application. We rely on coding to extract, manipulate, and present data from HASTUS while also supporting the continuous improvement of our internal analysis and quality assurance processes. Your strong time management skills and positive attitude will be crucial to your success in this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong coding and programming skills, particularly those with a background in mathematics or statistics. You will gain an introduction to key operational knowledge that can open doors to various career progression opportunities in the public transport industry.

It is essential for the successful candidate to possess strong communication skills and the ability to draw valuable insights from data, enabling informed decision-making while also driving process improvements.

This role will be ideal for people who:

  • Experience providing analysis, modelling, statistical, and mathematical evaluation.
  • Experience in programming languages (i.e., Python, Microsoft Excel VBA, or SQL.)
  • Resilience in a dynamic team environment and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Skills in the use of a range of data analytical tools to aid in the ongoing support of internal reporting processes and provide statistical and data driven insights to support future decision making.
  • Effective interpersonal skills – a key component of this role as the team has a collaborative approach to working and stakeholder engagement is a frequent occurrence.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.

HASTUS experience is strongly desirable but not essential (extensive training in HASTUS will be provided).
