JOB SUMMARY

The Geospatial Analytics, Technology and Solutions unit is responsible for Geographic Information System (GIS) and Data Management programs and services, including Geographic Information System (GIS), Zoning Information System (ZIS) activities, Water and Wastewater Distribution Network, Engineering Information Centre, Central Registry (Composite Utilities) and Data Management, Cartography, Web GIS, Visualization and Analytics services.
 

You are responsible for:

• analyzing, compiling, interpreting and evaluating geospatial (GIS) and non-spatial data 
• producing cartographic thematic maps, data visualizations, GIS reports and other deliverables that integrate a wide range of geospatial (GIS) and non-spatial data for internal and external clients
• providing geospatial (GIS) solutions’ support and investigating related issues
   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

4-year degree in computer science, geoscience, geomatics, information technology or other related field.
 

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the geospatial and/or information technology fields
 

Experience with FME, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup is desirable

KNOWLEDGE

• Visualization and cartographic principles
• ESRI or other geospatial applications
• Web content management solutions
• Technical knowledge of the GIS field
• Comprehensive understanding of database structures and SQL
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.
• Working knowledge of CADD is desirable
