Position Title: IT Applications Data Analyst – Region North America
Reports To: IT Applications and Process Manager, Grovetown
Position Summary
This position is a member of Region AMN’s IT Applications team and primarily performs back-end operations in MSSQL for the development, maintenance, analysis, and presentation of data for reporting and ERP operations to ensure consistent functionality. Responsible as part of a team for system data analysis, report design, and data transport architecture that renders data in front-end GUIs. This role works closely with relevant internal professionals to ensure data presented in websites and reporting is relevant and provides value for the business. The position holder continually evaluates the needs of users, analyzes any technical issues to programs and maintains highly functional systems, while staying updated on developments in applications, program functionality, and new coding languages. Success in this role requires the development and use of knowledge in pump, parts, and service business operations and working with diverse teams and individuals, to support their IT requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid 3 days in-office, 2 days remote after initial training/onboarding period), Occasional travel as needed (less than 10%)
Qualifications:
Application Development & Data Management
• Scripting & report writing skills
• Demonstrated experience with desktop and mobile applications
• Knowledge of at least back-end language
• Working knowledge of Windows OS
• Fundamental understanding of Windows and/or Linux OS
• Familiarity - databases, web servers, user interfaces, and specifically Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.
• Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems is an advantage.
Networks, Infrastructure & Cyber Security
• Knowledge of OSI Model
• Fundamental understanding of Networking concepts
• Strong basis of compliance with cybersecurity best business practices
General
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills
• Proficient organization skills and attention to detail
• Positive attitude with strong sense of urgency
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent problem-solving skills are critical
• Physical demands, up to 50 lbs.
Education / Experience:
• Preferred minimum of Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Preferred experience in any area of Information Technology
• Experience with command line tools and/or scripting skills is required.
Responsibilities:
Application Development & Data Management
• Collaborate to provide relevant data renderings for front-end applications
• Test and validate scripts and data sources to ensure accuracy and functionality
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software, including ERP
• Consults with users in multiple time zones
• Assists in troubleshooting of infrastructure when directly related to application functionality
Networks, Infrastructure, & Cyber Security
• Collaborate with IT Operations on networks and infrastructure
• Collaborate with team members to adhere to best business practices for cyber security
General
• Work with individuals and teams to ideate software solutions
• Write accurate, thorough, and effective technical or end user documentation
• Continually assess ways to enhance/improve software and applications
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Keeps abreast of IT industry; reviews, analyzes
• Assists with enforcement of IT department policies and procedures
• Works under general supervision but with some degree of independence
• Performs other duties and special projects/assignments, as may be required by the Company
