An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of an Aerodynamic Data for Loads Engineer based in Getafe. The successful candidate will join the Airbus Protect Aerodynamics Team within the Sustainability Business Unit.
As an Aerodynamic Data engineer, your main mission will be to deliver suitable aircraft design and configuration for optimum performance. You will be fully part of the challenges of today in designing a safe aircraft meeting the highest sustainability and operational standards.
The role
You will be accountable for the analysis of aircraft aerodynamic data obtained by means of CFD, wind tunnel testing or flight testing, of the Horizontal tailplane and Belly fairing of all Airbus Commercial aircraft models in addition to and R&T projects.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will range from:
Aerodynamic analysis using CFD tools, Wind Tunnel and Flight Test data.
Build aerodynamic models & datasets for Loads, Performance and Handling Qualities and support the integration of the models into our common Aerodynamic tool.
Ensure regular communications to the Programmes and R&T stakeholders.
The role will be based in Getafe and will require travels depending upon specific projects and engagement with all sites.
Are you THE one ?
You hold a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a specialisation in Aerodynamics and Flight Dynamics.
We need someone who has:
Data analytics, interest in pioneering the use of the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and model based systems engineering.
Programming skills in Python and Matlab. Object oriented programming and Github knowledge are desirable.
Experience in geometry generation with CATIA V5 and CFD experience is a plus
You must have a good level of communication in English (verbal and written). Spanish is a plus.
You are curious, always ready to learn and enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.
