Location
Your regular place of work is Hamburg near the largest German production site for civil aircraft situated in Finkenwerder. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.
Within the scope of your duties, you will be deployed at the Airbus Commercial location in Bremen after your start at Airbus Protect until the end of the operational requirements. After your return, you will be deployed at your regular place of work.

The successful candidate will join the Airbus Protect Aerodynamics team (APUIE7) within the Sustainability Business Unit. We support our clients’ resilience and readiness for the future through our knowledge of industrial processes, products and infrastructure, fostering:

Task description
Deliver aerodynamic models and data for aircraft performance, handling qualities and loads assessments
Contribute to and define future aerodynamic processes and technologies to keep Airbus at the forefront of innovation
Collaborate across transnational project teams and disciplines to secure multi-disciplinary design solutions meeting customer requirements while delivering on time, cost and quality
Provide aerodynamic support to manufacturing plants and airlines
Defining, attending and analysing results of wind tunnel tests
Defining, attending and analysing results of flight tests
Collaboration in the preparation of offers and company presentations
Taking on functional and/or project-related tasks in projects (e.g. technical project planning, topic responsibility)
Preparation of required documentation and presentation of work results
Required qualification
The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or comparable courses of study and related subject-specific additional qualifications or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification. The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways
Desired skills and competences
Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
Sound understanding of aerodynamics
First experience in aerodynamic numerical simulations/Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind tunnel test or flight test
Knowledge of CFD (CAD, meshing, turbulence models, limitations) would be an advantage
Good working knowledge of a programming language (preferably Python)
Familiarity with data science (machine learning and artificial intelligence) would be an advantage
Able to take decisions, communicate and influence effectively, and build trustful relationships
Aptitude for complex problem solving and innovation
Team oriented empowered mindset with strong customer focus
Advanced level of German and English
Willingness to travel domestically and abroad
