To facilitate this transformation, a new Business Operations Business Unit is being established, bringing together existing business service activities, and driving further expansion of centralized services at scale into a global unit, with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. This new Business Unit will enable the delivery of best-in-class business support capabilities across the organization, incorporating and engaging disparate teams from across areas such as R&D, M&S, the Corporate Functions and GBUs into new global Service Delivery Towers with initial services spanning Commercial, Finance, Procurement and People & Culture. Reporting to the Head of Category Analytics, the Analyst, Category Analytics & Cost Modelling plays a critical role in supporting Sanofi's Procurement Front-End teams in developing their strategies & executing them. He/she is responsible for conducting in-depth analyses related to category spending, market trends, and cost modelling to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
Leverage Advanced Analytics & Data Science: Work with large datasets and cutting-edge analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Power BI) to derive actionable insights on category spending, supplier performance, and market trends.
Build Cost Models & Optimize Spend: Develop dynamic cost models to calculate total cost of ownership (TCO), highlight hidden cost drivers, and propose data-backed strategies for cost optimization.
Market Intelligence & Research: Stay updated on emerging industry trends, new technologies, and potential market shifts that can influence procurement strategies and supplier negotiations.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Procurement, Category Managers, and other business stakeholders to understand requirements and align analytics initiatives with organizational goals.
Communicate Insights & Trends: Translate complex data findings into clear dashboards, presentations, and reports to influence decision-making at all levels of leadership.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of innovation by identifying and implementing best practices in data management, analytics methodologies, and process automation for ongoing enhancements.
About you:
Experience: Experience in analytics, consulting, or strategy roles, ideally within a global or dynamic environment. Proven ability to dissect complex challenges, think critically, and propose innovative, data-driven solutions. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural team environment.
Soft skills & Technical skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and at least one advanced analytics tool (Python, R, SQL). Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings and insights compellingly and convincingly. Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in data science and procurement
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field. Advanced degrees in analytics or data science are a plus.
Languages: Fluency in English (spoken and written).
