Job Description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to hire Automation Developer - IT  who is based out of in Chennai location.

Software Engineer Jr. Development of basic automations and specialized script components, testing of automation projects and documentation of projects, policies and procedures. Apply best practices to self developed components and apply best practices audit for other team’s code. Guide and support other teams on automation and best practices related topics as well as on published policies and procedures.

Reporting to Senior Manager & the role involves,

What a typical day looks like:

• Create scripting code for specific functionality and specialized components
• Define a testing matrix for all possible use cases for reusable libraries developed internally and automation projects, execute and document the test cases
• Automate pipelines and test cases
• Demonstrating strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business requirements and translate them into program design and technical implementations.
• Interacting with other team members for guiding and align them to the automation standards and best practices
• Strong programming skills, and an ability to write complex programs, applying coding best practices and following given standards, and experience working with scripting languages (python, kornshell and/or powershell).
• Full understanding and basic usage of IaC tools
• Creating Ansible playbooks and programs using basic and advanced features as roles, handlers, plugins, custom modules and jinja2
• Should have knowledge of terraform concepts and cloud administration
• Documenting automation diagrams, technical specifications, SOPs, and presentations for projects overview and training programs.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Any bachelor or master degree in computer science.
• 2-5 years of experience working as an automation engineer or software engineer, demonstrating strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business requirements and translate them into an application or program and corresponding technical documentation
• Strong programming skills, and an ability to write complex programs, and experience working with scripting languages: kornshell, powershell and python.
• Knowledge of Ansible, basic and some advance functionalities: multiplay playbooks, roles, handlers, reusable code, custom modules/plugins/filters, jinja2, templates, conditionals, blocks & embedded python.
• Should have knowledge of IaC & Terraform concepts and basic cloud administration
• Should have basic linux administration skills
• Knowledge of optimizing code and configurable programs.
• Can review code and audit for given standards and best practices compliance
• Quick learner, self learning focused

Mandatory skills

• Ansible (beyond basics)
• Scripting language (either kornshell, powershell or both)
• Python
• Git & Azure DevOps (as code repository at least)
• Excellent English level -  capable of having a business conversation without issues.
• MS Office basic skills : excel, word, powerpoint
• Basic understanding of cloud administration
• Basic linux administration skills
• Basic understanding of IaC and Terraform

Desirable:

• Basic/medium hands-on cloud administration
• Using Terraform on cloud
• +2yrs python coding experience
• CI/CD and pipelines using Jenkins
• Any ML formal training
• Experience as systems administrator
• Knowledge and hands-on experience on AWX/Ansible Tower/ Ansible Platform
