Job Description: 

Looking for a Robotics Research Engineer with hands-on experience in the field of Robotics and computer vision covering the wide spectrum of task including perception, planning and control.

It is expected that the candidate can collaborate on research projects being conducted in one or more of ISR's interdisciplinary areas. In this position, the candidate will have the opportunity to conduct research on critical building blocks for Intel's strategy and compute experience. This research will implement, measure and validate novel ideas towards the future of human-robot collaboration. Hence, publication of findings in both internal and external venues are fostered and expected.

The successful candidate will be working on designing and developing algorithms to interface humans and robot systems in physically shared workspaces in a natural, intuitive, and effective manner. The targeted applications shall communicate in an efficient manner with the ROS framework allowing the workload(s) and resources distribution in an optimal manner.

Please consider that this is a Temporary position (6 months).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, you must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:

  • Master or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Computer Graphics, Computer Vision and Robotics.
  • 2+ years of experience in Python and C++ languages and Linux.
  • 3+ years working knowledge of ROS.
  • 2+ years of experience with software engineering skills. Git version control, continuous integration and efficient programming.
  • 2+ years of experience in application of computer vision and robotics state-of-the-art methods on real projects.
  • Advanced English level.
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico.


Preferred Qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:

  • 2+ Publication track record in top-tier conference/journal focused on Robotics, Machine Learning, Graphics, etc.
  • Knowledge of 3D sensing and projective geometry.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with robotics trajectory generation and path planning state of the art algorithms.
  • Familiarity with NumPy, MATLAB or similar numeric computing languages.
  • Familiarity with Intel RealSense technologies.
  • Video making and editing knowledge.
  • 3D modelling and printing knowledge (e.g. blender, solid works).
