Power BI Lead

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Lead Power Bi Developer/ Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our data engineering team, designing and implementing data solutions, and ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers and Power BI semantic modellers, providing technical guidance and support.

· Project Management: Utilise Jira to manage the priority and assignment of requests received from the business, and ensure team updates and governance.

· Data Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines and architectures.

· Power BI: Hands on experience in data modelling, DAX, power query, designing high performant dashboards & reports.

· Collaboration: Work closely with overseas Power BI team leaders and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.

· Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.

· Performance Optimization: Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance and scalability.

· Data Security: Implement and maintain data security protocols to ensure data protection and compliance with regulatory requirements.

· Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes and systems.

· Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and best practices, driving continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Experience:

o At least 8+ years of experience in data engineering & Power BI with a proven track record of leading a team focused on data warehousing and ETL.

· Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in SQL databases.

o Proficiency in designing Power BI data models

o Expertise in DAX, power Query and building power bi dashboards

o Expertise in data pipeline and ETL tools.

o Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, etc.).

o Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, etc.

o Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and their data services.

o Knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.

o Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric platform, and medallion architecture

· Soft Skills:

o Excellent leadership and team management skills.

o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

o Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

EDUCATION: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer technology, MIS, or Computer Science preferred

Associates degree (technical college) or higher in a computer-related field required.
