Job Description

The Visa Acceptance Platform team is looking for an intern for the Centralized Data Platform team. The Data Platform houses large amounts of data processed by various Visa products to enable organizations to leverage their data effectively, driving better decision making, innovation, and competitive advantage. The team manages the data infrastructure, tools, pipelines, governance, data models, integration mechanisms, data modeling and analytics products to develop insights and drive business decisions. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data platform management and analytics, working on real-world projects that make a significant impact. 

Job Description & Responsibilities 

• Assist in requirements gathering data from various sources, including databases, and integration methods. Support the data ingestion process, ensuring data is accurately and efficiently collected. 
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Use statistical techniques and data visualization tools to analyze data and present findings. 
• Assist in creating dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data insights to stakeholders. Use tools like Tableau, Power BI to develop visual representations of data. 
• Collaborate with the analytics team on various projects in testing and validating analytical models and algorithms. 
• Help document data processes, methodologies, and findings. Prepare reports and presentations to share insights with the team and other stakeholders. 
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and product managers. 
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project review

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree, graduating December 2025 or later 
• Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Strong interest in data analytics, data science, and data engineering. 
• Basic understanding of data analysis techniques and statistical methods. 
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL). 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges 
• Previous internship or project experience in data analytics or related field. 
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and techniques. 
• Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Spark, BigQuery), streaming systems (es: Apache Kafka, Google pub/sub, Azure stream), and ETL platforms (Apache NiFi, Google dataflow, AWS Glue) and BI tools (eg: Tableau, Denodo, Power BI) 

Additional Information

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated hourly range for a new hire into this position is $27.00 to $30.00 which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department 

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
