Job Description
Bosch Research and Technology in Pittsburgh is seeking a highly motivated student to join our research team focused on integrating advanced machine learning techniques into cyber-physical systems development and maintenance processes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on projects that aim to bridge the gap between digital and physical data in manufacturing environments. You will be involved in developing methodologies, applications, and strategies for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing low-level data from distributed, cyber-physical systems. You will assist in building and refining data capture pipelines, developing machine learning models to infer relationships between digital and physical modalities, and implementing ML-enabled debugging features to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning principles, algorithms, and their applications and the ability to build, train, and evaluate ML models for sensing and signal processing systems.
- Familiarity with cyber-physical systems (e.g., embedded sensors and actuators, robotics, industrial automation, and/or automotive applications).
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages, especially Python, with experience in frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, in oral and written forms.
- Enthusiastic and collaborative approach to problem solving.
Desired:
- Experience with systems programming languages, (e.g., C, C++, Python or Rust)
- Deep understanding of computer systems, including operating systems, networking, and computer architecture.
Additional Information
The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $43.50-$58.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.*
