Software Engineer - Build and Test Platforms

At Zoox, we're developing a revolutionary autonomous vehicle that requires robust development infrastructure to support thousands of engineers and millions of lines of code. To tackle that need, we provide and maintain a comprehensive bazel ecosystem to enable developers to build and test their code efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. 
We're seeking an engineer to build scalable solutions that enhance our development, build, and test workflows. As part of the Build and Test Platforms team, you'll optimize key components of our development lifecycle to ensure speed and consistency and create a world-class development experience that enables our engineers to take rapid, confident strides forward.

In this role, you will:

• Create, maintain, and support tooling used by software engineers to develop, build, and test code.
• Develop features and services to measure, speed up, and improve the developer build and test experience
• Build tools and dashboards to empower developers to ship better software faster

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills for automation and tooling
• Strong background in web services and API development
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases
• Proficiency with metrics visualization (Grafana or similar systems)

Bonus Qualifications

• C++ experience
• Familiarity with the Bazel build system
• Experience working in a mono-repo environment

CompensationThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $147,000 to $232,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position. Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
