Quantitative Researcher

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Quantitative Researcher (International Pricing) to join our Trading team in New York. What you will do

• Collaborate with Traders and Quantitative Researchers to build, test and optimize current trading models and create new and improved trading strategies
• Research and analyze large financial datasets to find exploitable patterns
• Design and implement complex quantitative models to predict asset returns
• Take full ownership of research projects, from conceptualization through implementation and evaluation, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Collaborate effectively with traders to develop and implement quantitative strategies and to compare expected versus realized results and explain the differences
• Present complex data findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Evaluate the practical backgrounds and implications of research findings, integrating real-world considerations with quantitative analysis
• Utilize, and contribute to, extensive in-house research frameworks

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science or other relevant STEM field
• Minimum of 2 years professional working experience
• Experience with alpha generation at a market maker, proprietary trading firm or hedge fund a plus
• Experience with predictive modelling in international equities when local markets are closed a plus
• Highly proficient in Python, SQL
• Experience with machine learning algorithms
• Exposure to Spark, Hive, Cloud Computing or Distributed Data, a plus
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to easily manipulate large datasets
• Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills
• Logical, independent thinker who proactively seeks creative solutions to complex problems
• Structured communicator with ability to translate ideas and theories into action
• An ambitious and intellectually curious mentality
• Ability to take ownership and deliver under pressure
• Thrives in a competitive but team oriented environment

Where candidates will fall within the range depends on a few different factors including but not limited to level of experience, location, and specific skill set. We also consider ourselves one global team, and to demonstrate that, all employees are eligible to share in the company’s success through an annual discretionary variable remuneration allocated based on company, group and individual performance and contribution. 

Per NYC salary transparency law, the total compensation for this role includes a base range of $135,000 to $150,000 plus annual discretionary variable remuneration.
