Senior Data Engineer

Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain AI-enhanced search capabilities across the DoD's CDAO Search Portfolio, including GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and the new YETI semantic search API. As Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement data pipelines and infrastructure supporting AI-enabled search capabilities across multiple security domains.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  Must be within 50-mile radius of Washington DC metro area (Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington). 

Responsibilities

• Configure and ingest structured/unstructured data repositories
• Maintain operational aspects of data transfers
• Monitor security posture and system health
• Automate configuration management
• Optimize infrastructure for cost and performance
• Apply data engineering best practices
• Support cloud environment establishment
• Engage with multiple functional groups
• Prototype new technologies and solutions
• Implement scalable coding solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree + 7-10 years experience OR Master's degree + 5 years experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Experience with Big Data systems (Apache Spark/Databricks)
• Experience with ETL processes
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or MilCloud 2.0
• Experience applying DoD STIGs and automation
• Experience with multiple coding languages
• Experience engineering data pipelines across classified networks
