BI Analyst / Data Scientist

Position Overview

• To provide industry standard business insight (BI) capabilities in relation to 1GLOBAL’s various business activities.  
• Acquire datasets from various sources align with business needs. Evangelise the effective use of BI, tools, data, and practices, deliver planned BI solutions to on-time, on-quality constraints.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirement and objectives.
• Develop algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information. Responsible for production, change rollout and support of Finance and BI system according to an agreed work-plan.
• Create new data validation methods and test method. Build, test, and maintain database pipeline architectures.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
• Monitor, maintain and optimise a healthy BI eco-system, achieve high system/server performance.
• We are open to hiring this candidate for our offices in Dublin, Warsaw, or Lisbon.
  

Key Responsibilities

• To monitor, maintain and optimise a healthy BI eco-system, achieve high system/server performance and meet business requirement;
• To be flexible on supporting daily, weekly, monthly operation;
• Out of office hours work might be required, from time to time to deal with system job failures and urgent issues.
• To participate as a team member on BI servers/systems ETL, storage operation and development, providing Business intelligence services to 1GLOBAL users. Create tools supporting enhanced BI self-service.
• Develop algorithms to extract, load and transform data into useful, actionable information. Create new data validation methods and test method. Build, test, and maintain database pipeline architectures
• Establishment, care and feeding of an increasingly diverse central repository of business data.
• Work with internal customers to ensure results are communicated and used effectively.
• Apply BI best practice in your specific business area.
• Assure data quality and promote effective business rules to preserve and protect data assets.

Requirements

Must Have

• Over 3 years’ experience in business intelligence,  or data engineering, or ETL environment.
• 3 years experience of using MSBI - Microsoft SQL Server SSIS, PowerBI, SSRS, SSAS and SQL Query language
• Good experience on working with AWS data lakes and ETL.
• University degree in one of following disciplines: business intelligence, software engineering, data engineering, science and technology.
• Good program and scripting language skill including any of PS, Python, C#, VB etc.
• Able to transform data into information into insight into action and deliver the solutions with good data quality to meeting business needs.
• Ability to work flexibly within a team fulfilling an end-to-end range of BI delivery tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to adopt both technical and non-technical language.
• Ability to multi-task & prioritise whilst maintaining focus on each project.
• Strong team-working ethos, self-starter; experience in working within fast-paced and agile organisations.
• Able to work in a fast changing and dynamic environment, and willing to go extra miles to deliver business requirements.
• Fast learner with good numeracy and analytical skills.

Nice to Have

• Mobile Telecoms experience.
• Experience in Accounting systems and CRM systems.
• Knowledge of big data, cloud technology.
• Advance Microsoft Excel skills including PowerPivot and PowerQuery.
• Database configuration, database performance management and storage management.
