Your Role
This is a permanent role in the Retail Insurance Australia (RIA) Pricing team. Our team advises and supports an extensive range of personal insurance products, including Home, Motor and Niche products.
As a Consumer Pricing Senior Analyst, you’ll work on the Direct Home portfolio alongside the Specialist to utilise technical model outputs, market insights, and Portfolio inputs to recommend and implement pricing strategies that deliver best in class pricing. You'll work closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure all needs are balanced and aligned.
Day to day, you’ll assist with recommending pricing strategies for the Direct Home portfolio, factoring in both technical models and strategic considerations. You will also play a key role in enhancing our pricing monitoring capabilities, enabling us to determine the best pricing strategy and strengthen our position in the market. Your collaboration with business stakeholders will ensure alignment on go-to-market pricing strategies, while delivering best practices in pricing techniques and governance. Additionally, you’ll mentor junior colleagues and foster a high-performance team culture.

About You

Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Mathematical, Statistics, Data Science or other analytical disciplines.

Sound knowledge and experience in general insurance industry, ideally in pricing with 3+ years of experience.

Experience analysing complex data, preferably in general insurance actuarial or analytical roles.

Proficient in programming with analytical software such as R, Python, SAS and/or SQL; Experience with Earnix is advantageous.

Experience across actuarial and technical pricing methods; Experience across design, build and evaluation of pricing models are highly advantageous.

Extensive experience using and building machine learning algorithms, GLM models and advanced skills in statistical analysis, quantitative/predictive analytics, multivariate testing and optimisation algorithm are desirable; Experience in behavioural models is desirable.

Experience building dashboards in programs such as R Shiny and Tableau.

Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate complex technical concept, quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner to a range of stakeholders.

Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Insurance industry domain knowledge and familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory environment are desirable.
