About the Role & Team
The Manager - Reporting, Optimization & Analytics provides leadership for the Reporting, Optimization, and Analysis Team which is a part of the Risk Management Services Business Insight and Support Team.
This position requires a candidate who has a great attitude and is passionate about support, service, and developing a talented team. This candidate is a team player who holds themselves accountable in their individual responsibilities, business user support, and collaboration with partners. A person who believes the impossible is possible and can make it happen through asking the right questions and thinking outside the box.
This role reports to the Sr. Manager of the Business Insight and Support Team in Risk Management Services at the Walt Disney World Resort.
What You Will Do
- Effectively identify, communicate, and implement incident prevention and claims management tools and strategies that will further minimize the opportunity for financial loss to the company in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Guest Claims.
- Lead the Risk Management Services Reporting, Optimization, and Analytics team, ensuring comprehensive analysis and reporting for claims management and incident prevention. This role involves the production of numerous reports and the execution of various analytical studies annually.
- Oversee and strategize the use and maintenance of Risk Management Services’ data analytics technology stack which includes Tableau, Business Objects, Python, Microsoft C#, Microsoft IIS, SharePoint, web services, and SQL.
- Foster and nurture a skilled team to master new technologies, innovative analytic methods, and advanced techniques for visually presenting their findings to executives, ensuring effective communication of key messages.
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop solid working relationships and effective strategies.
- Design, implement, maintain, and integrate metrics to validate team accomplishments.
- Develop and implement effective and efficient data collection, visualization, and analytical tools.
- Lead the development and sustainment of monitoring reports and dashboards for safety professionals and senior leadership.
- Monitor data integrity.
- Develop creative and proactive approaches to process changes and metrics that assist in reducing the company’s exposure to risk and contain associated costs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead technical professionals.
- Proficiency in data management and analytics tools such as SQL, Business Objects, Python, C#, Microsoft IIS, web services, SharePoint, and Tableau.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to network and form good working relationships with key business partners.
- Strong knowledge of analytic techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through on commitments.
- Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity.
- Capability to ensure the quality of data and products delivered to customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
- Effective communicator who can interface at all levels within the company and influence business results through relationships, negotiation, persuasion, and personal presence.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, risk management, industrial engineering, finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent.
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
- Advanced Data Analytics / Science Certificates through an accrediting entity or Disney.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning including model building and maintenance.
