Data Engineer with Affinity to Software Development

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Data Engineer with a strong affinity for software development to join our team.

What would your role be?

• Independently solve tasks in the area of optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of sources
• Be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems
• Take ownership in the development and maintenance of the operations and support of our data orchestration systems
• Provide software development support to our research teams with focus on scalability and automation
• Contribute to solution development in an agile delivery environment

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. They should also have experience using the following software/tools:

 

Must-haves:

• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• Strong experience with Python and software development principles, with a focus on supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Proficiency in written and spoken German and English

Nice-to-haves:
 

• Knowledge in other general purpose programming languages
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure and Snowflake
• Experience in the financial industry
