Job Description:

Parsons is seeking talented and motivated Software Engineer & Data Science Interns for the Summer of 2025. This unique, joint position offers an opportunity to work on both software development and data analysis projects. As an intern, you will collaborate with experienced engineers and data scientists to solve real-world challenges across a variety of industries, including defense, cybersecurity, and smart cities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Assist with the design, development, and testing of software applications, including writing clean, efficient code in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Data Science: Analyze and manipulate large datasets using data science tools and techniques. Assist with model development, data visualization, and the application of machine learning algorithms to derive actionable insights.
• Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams to support the development of software tools and data-driven solutions.
• Problem Solving: Contribute to solving technical challenges by leveraging both software engineering and data science methodologies.
• Learning and Development: Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and workshops. Gain exposure to a variety of technologies and methodologies in both software engineering and data science.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
• Knowledge of data science techniques and tools, including data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or similar.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms or big data technologies (AWS, Azure, Hadoop, etc.).

Salary Range: 

$21.44 - $37.55
