Citi is a leading global bank for institutions with cross-border needs, a global provider in wealth management and a U.S. personal bank.Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks a Research Strategist for its New York, NY location.
Duties: Deliver high quality investment insights to institutional investors on a global basis with a high emphasis on independence and objectivity in its products and insights. Advise diversified global investor base from banks, insurance companies, asset managers to hedge funds, private equity firms and family offices. Prepare industry-wide research reports for non-agency RMBS market as well as relative value against other comparable financial products. Partner with sales, trading, and other Citi research teams and Stakeholders to develop relationship with clients and innovative research strategies. Utilize statistical analysis and computer programming tools to analyze market catalysts and produce in-depth analytical reports that assist clients in investment strategies. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance occupation involving quantitative analysis and modeling within the financial industry. Employer will accept pre- or post- Master’s degree experience. Two (2) years of experience must include: Performing data cleaning, data aggregation, and statistical analysis based on large scale data and data visualization with SQL Database, R, Python and VBA; Applying stress testing and scenario analysis with reasonable assumptions based on current market conditions; Financial modeling related to fixed/floating rates instruments; Analyzing data from various sources including Bloomberg and Markit to identify market catalysts, trends, and risks to produce in-depth analytical reports; Applying statistical regression, Monte Carlo simulation, and machine learning methods to build robust models to identify key factors impacting market performances and market catalysts; and Following and interpolating newly proposed regulatory requirements including BASEL III and FRTB (Fundamental Review of Trading Book) under various jurisdictions including the US and EU and advising clients on the impact of new regulations in terms of RWA (risk-weighted assets) and Eligible Capital. 40 hrs./wk.
