About the Team/Role

The Business Intelligence Analyst 3 will balance their time between providing wide analytics support to multiple lines of business and providing dedicated support for our largest and most complex strategic partnerships within the North American Fleet line of business.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will dive deep into complex business challenges, utilizing data from internal and external sources to provide clear, actionable insights for decision-makers. This role will involve more than just collecting data; it will require identifying hidden patterns and trends within datasets to understand the underlying factors that influence business performance. The Analyst will use this knowledge, combined with a strong understanding of the market, to construct accurate forecasts, develop insightful recommendations, and contribute to strategic and tactical planning. They will translate complex data into digestible reports and analyses, tailoring their approach to meet specific business needs and utilizing available data elements effectively. Beyond simply presenting data, the Analyst will act as a consultant, providing guidance to users and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve pressing business problems. They will also possess the technical skills to generate datasets and reports using system reporting tools, ensuring the organization has the information it needs to succeed.

Traveling to present at strategic offsite meetings may be required.
 

How you'll make an impact

  • Utilize enterprise data platforms, Business Intelligence platforms and data visualization tools for data discovery and storytelling. Preferred experience in Snowflake, Tableau and Business Objects.

  • Create and maintain datasets, dashboards and proprietary systems in support of analytical duties.  

  • Development and deployment of dashboards, trend analysis, operational reporting to key stakeholder groups.

  • Develop both custom and ad-hoc reports as necessary to identify, illustrate, and monitor trends and issues within the portfolios for both the US and Canada.  

  • Perform ongoing analysis of data, changes, trends and other relevant patterns.  

  • Analyze industry trends and provide competitive benchmarking. 

  • Conduct self-directed investigations into data irregularities and proactively identify opportunities for service improvement and potential system issues.  

  • Fulfill all prioritized departmental ad hoc report requests from the Sales and Marketing teams.

  • Provide insight and direction to the “Four A’s” of portfolio analysis and reporting: Acquisition, Approval, Activation and Attrition. 

  • Forecast portfolio volume against contractual obligations on a monthly basis in both the US and Canada.

Partner with Service Delivery leadership to identify both broad and individual coaching needs, make recommendations based on data analysis, and develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting out results to stakeholders on a recurring basis.

  • Collaborate with Management to explore, evaluate and initiate revenue enhancement opportunities employed appropriately across all WEX-funded portfolios

  • Partner cross-functionally to strategically leverage relationships with Sales, Operations, Marketing, Product, IT and Finance.

  • Collaborate closely with Program Management teams in order to analyze and evaluate new program/product enhancements, drive process improvements and maximize implementation success and program growth.

Experience you'll bring

  • BS or MS degree in relevant area (Sales and Marketing, Data Analytics, Data Science, etc.) or commensurate experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience required 

  • Technical proficiency in SQL/PSQL, enterprise BI tools (Prefer Business Objects) and visualization tools (Prefer Tableau)

  • Understanding of data architecture and data management (Snowflake, Python, ETL monitoring, etc.)

  • Firm grasp of sales, marketing and B2B go-to-market strategies

  • Ability to translate data-driven analyses into actionable insights and recommendations and effectively communicate these findings to the business and our customers.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $83,000.00 - $110,000.00
