A key component of delivering these solutions is developing AI skills and workflows that leverage Practical Law’s content and editor subject matter expertise, delivered both within the Practical Law application and through Cocounsel surfaces.
The Director/Senior Director of Product Management for Generative AI will bring extensive expertise in product management, particularly in the context of leveraging generative AI technologies. This role requires a visionary leader who can synthesize cutting-edge AI capabilities with domain-specific knowledge to create transformative product solutions. The Director/Senior Director will be responsible for managing the development of AI-driven workflows and features, leveraging Practical Law’s trusted legal content and expertise, and delivering a seamless, value-driven customer experience. This includes driving the integration of AI-powered solutions across Cocounsel’s ecosystem, including the integrated legal assistant.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in generative AI technologies, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver tools that leverage AI to enhance user experiences. They will lead a high-performing team of product managers who partner with prompt engineers and legal SMEs to ensure the solutions meet the high standards our customers expect. This leader will be tasked with prioritizing features, optimizing product architecture, and driving operational excellence within an agile framework. As part of this role, the Director/Senior Director will be responsible for shaping the product roadmap and leading innovation in AI-driven solutions, delivering measurable results iteratively and efficiently.
This Director/Senior Director will need to possess excellent judgment, autonomy, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will be comfortable navigating ambiguity while consistently driving the development and delivery of complex products and technologies. They will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the company to implement scalable solutions and align stakeholders with the strategic vision for AI innovation.
About the role,
As a Director/Senior Director of Product Management, you will:
Lead the development of innovative, AI-driven solutions for legal workflows and content delivery, with a deep focus on generative AI and the unique needs of legal professionals.
Work closely with product managers, engineering, UX, prompt engineers, and legal SMEs to define and deliver world-class generative AI products that exceed customer expectations.
Serve as the customer advocate for the product development team, ensuring alignment of features with customer needs and business value.
Develop and maintain the product roadmap for your product area, focusing on the evolution of AI capabilities and their integration into Practical Law and Cocounsel surfaces.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products, ensuring agile development cycles and effective trade-offs between customer needs and business priorities.
Be a thought leader in the AI and legal technology spaces, sharing insights and innovations through presentations, blog posts, and public speaking engagements.
Evangelize the vision, strategy, and roadmap to key stakeholders across the company, ensuring alignment and fostering a shared understanding of goals.
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and valuable customer experiences.
About you,
You are fit for the role if your background includes,
Proven experience leading product management for AI-driven solutions, especially in generative AI or related fields, with a strong portfolio of successful AI-based product innovations.
A technical background with a BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience in software development, prompt engineering, and/or Python.
A deep understanding of the needs of knowledge workers.
Significant experience collaborating with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, value-driven products that integrate AI capabilities within enterprise systems.
Familiarity with data science methodologies and strategies for optimizing content and AI skill development.
At least 8 years of experience in product management roles, with a strong track record of leadership and execution in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications
An understanding of legal professionals and the legal technology market.
Strong experience in managing products and product lines at the intersection of legal technology, AI, and workflow optimization.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders to deliver complex, high-impact AI solutions.
A forward-thinking leader who can anticipate market trends and customer needs, positioning the company as a leader in AI-powered legal technologies.
