Commodity Trading Analyst

The Commodities team of Euronext is looking for a Commodity Trading Analyst to take our capabilities to the next level. If you have a passion for data and commodities, are autonomous, and highly motivated we’d like to hear from you!

Within Euronext, the Commodities team is responsible for developing hedging and investment derivatives in the agricultural sector and beyond. We are a small, multicultural team based across the group locations, in particular Amsterdam and Paris.

Within the team, the Commodity Trading Analyst will increase our abilities to monitor the activity of the market and market participants. Your actionable insights and analyses will improve client dialogue and experience and generate ideas to improve trading rules and launch new features. You will enhance our forecasting and pricing abilities, and generate a pipeline of potential revenue-generating data products.


You wil in particular:

• Perform on-the-spot analyses to transform raw data into actionable business insights. When possible, automate these findings to provide a reliable stream of information to the team and potentially market it into a data product.

• Use these insights to come up with potential improvements and new features in our trading rules and systems, to foster market liquidity and client experience.

• Build analytical tools to monitor market activity, market participant activity and liquidity, and build associated automated reports to inform client discussions.

• Collaborate within the Commodities team and with other internal stakeholders to improve and automate key decisions and processes, such as pricing, budgeting and forecasting, billing.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Excellent academic background. Preferrable mathematics, finance, statistics, data analysis and related fields;

• 0-2 years of experience;

• Knowledge of the commodity market;

• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with high attention to details

• Programming in Excel (VBA) & Python;

• Fluency in English (French & other language is a plus);

• Strong communication (verbal and written), and excellent organizational skills;

• Strong team player and willing to take ownership of his/her work, working both independently and within a small team.
