Join Collins Aerospace as a Generative AI Software Developer/Engineer. We’re looking for a passionate professional, like you, with experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI. In this role you will be part of the Avionics Engineering Team designing and developing the next-generation avionics system of the future.

The Avionics Advanced Technology Development Sandbox team is chartered with defining new disruptive developmental process improvements for the Avionics business unit to enable faster cycle times, lower total lifecycle cost, reduce tech debt and enable greater reusability.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

• Develop, design and conclude experiments to accelerate business capabilities in Generative AI for avionics development
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to multiple sub-projects

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 1-5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 0-3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 6-9 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Strong software development experience and skills
• Proficient in Unix/Linux
• Proficient in Python
• Proven execution skills in the development of complex systems
• Experience in AI/ML or Generative AI
• Understanding of the fundamentals of AI/ML through research or practice
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and LangChain
