Endeavor is also the majority owner of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), a premium sports and entertainment company comprising UFC and WWE.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced engineering leader to run day-to-day data engineering operations at On Location. The data team supports all business functions across On Location, which specializes in creating premium experiential offerings to major events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, among others. This role will involve leading a team of data and DataOps engineers, including mentoring and helping grow individual team members, guiding architectural decisions, and setting and executing a clear roadmap to ensure continued success and further innovation across our data platform.
The remit of the data engineering team at On Location is expansive and includes the following areas:
- Building and maintaining a cloud-forward, highly scalable data platform for use by our data scientists and analysts for training and serving state-of-the-art machine learning models and doing ad-hoc analysis.
- Integrating with internal and external applications via bi-directional data pipelines and APIs to ingest data into our data warehouse and send data back out to various providers including ESPs, internal applications, and adtech platforms.
- Managing the underlying infrastructure for our data applications. We use infrastructure-as-code for most of our cloud resources and are a platform-first team.
- Advancing frameworks and championing new technologies to enable our business users to have more direct means to access and use data to drive decision-making.
Expectations
Partnership & Culture: You will work closely with Product and Data Science leadership to drive forward a shared roadmap. Additionally, this role will frequently collaborate with engineering, business operations, finance, and sales leadership to maximize the data engineering team’s impact.
Technical Acumen: You will be an expert in our data engineering stack and existing capabilities, and stay up-to-date on new industry trends. This role will provide technical guidance for the team, including performing code reviews and occasionally acting as a player-coach. This role will be directly responsible for final sign-off on architectural decisions.
Judgement: You will think in terms of cost-benefit analysis and trade-offs. You will rely on your judgment to prioritize projects, align on approaches, and work closely with business partners and stakeholders.
Mentorship: Your primary responsibility will be growing a team of outstanding engineers. You will strive to embody and promote engineering excellence and provide meaningful and timely feedback to your team.
Qualifications
- Experiencing leading data or data-centric software engineering groups with an emphasis on data
- 7+ years of experience as a data engineer
- 2+ years of people management experience serving as either an engineering manager or staff+ role where you were directly responsible for managing others
- Experience with modern cloud-native data technologies and tools (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, Airflow, Prefect, Spark)
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Excellent at communicating context (both written and verbal), giving and receiving feedback, and fostering new ideas through in-depth conversation
- Strategic and analytic thinking skills - you should be able to think big picture, especially as it pertains to solutioning, road mapping, and prioritization
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of operating a large-scale Snowflake data warehouse, including the use of ML tools such as Snowpark and Snowpark Container Services
- 3+ years of experience building and operating container-based systems (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes) using infrastructure-as-code (i.e. Terraform)
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
