Our challenge
A Big Data Developer focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining big data applications and systems that handle large volumes of data. This role often involves using various technologies and tools to manage and analyze big data, ensuring the data is accessible and usable for organizations.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Sunrise, FL is $110k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Data Processing: Design and implement data pipelines to process and analyze large datasets using tools such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
Data Storage: Work with distributed storage systems like HDFS, Apache HBase, or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Data Querying: Develop and optimize queries to extract meaningful insights from big data using languages like SQL, HiveQL, or Pig Latin.
Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Performance Tuning: Optimize existing big data solutions for performance and scalability.
Collaboration: Work with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Requirements:
You are:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
Strong understanding of big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
Experience with data querying languages (SQL, HiveQL).
Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their big data services.
Understanding of data governance and security practices.
Data Processing: Apache Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Apache Flink.
Data Storage: HDFS, Apache HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra.
Data Querying: Apache Hive, Apache Pig, SQL.
Data Integration: Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica.
Cloud Services: AWS EMR, Google BigQuery, Azure HDInsight.
