Job Description: 

About the Role

As a GPU Performance and Power Architect at Intel, you will conduct performance analysis of GPUs and SoC’s and deliver GPU roadmaps for the company. Responsibilities include developing analytical performance and power models for AI and GPU workloads, collaborating with architecture and business teams and creating performance analysis projections for competition

You will work with our dynamic team on some of the following:

  • Develop and maintain performance and power models for GPU 3D/AI 
  • System level performance analysis/ bottleneck analysis of complex integrated and discrete GPUs and System-on-Chips (SoCs). 
  • GPU Roadmap and its relevance to projections (able to focus on roadblocks, aggressive configs Vs realistic ones, assumptions) 
  • Understand key performance use-cases of the product. Define workloads and test suits targeting graphics, machine learning and creator applications running on these products. 
  • Work closely with the architecture and design teams to explore architecture trade-offs related to system performance, area, and power consumption. 
  • Comprehensive and holistic understanding of GPU competitive space (what is relevant for the time, where does comp invest for growth in future, WL, scenarios etc.)

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education should be BS or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering or related field plus 8 + years of experience in Performance/Power modeling and/or Graphics/AI workload analysis. 
  • Experience utilizing pre-existing PnP models in the context of GPU design
  • Knowledge of Graphics and compute architecture, validation concepts, power and performance methodologies, and debug process flows.
  • Skilled in programming languages, scripting and markup languages (Python, Pearl, Ruby, JSON, XML, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with industry standard 3D/AI benchmarks
  • Knowledge of Power delivery study, Voltage-Freq analysis, Thermal analysis, leakage characterization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and maintaining your own PnP projection models
  • Experience with performance monitoring tools, such as VTune, GPA, or other performance optimization tools. 
  • Experience optimizing code for performance. 
  • Experience with C, C++, Python or statistics languages like R.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$214,730.00-$303,140.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
