About the Role

As a Product Configuration Tool Engineer, you will take on a hybrid role combining technical development and product management. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a sophisticated web-based tool that will help our internal teams and customers configure high-performance computing (HPC) appliances based on a range of parameters. This tool will not only provide users with a front-end interface to select and customize configurations but also have a powerful backend capable of managing highly complex product constraints and generating accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), rack elevations, and other details of the customized product.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software, hardware, and product management. You will gain exposure to various cutting-edge components of our technology, from HPC servers and network systems to the software that powers our product. This role will provide a comprehensive view of our technology stack and a chance to interact with multiple technical teams, making it an exciting and valuable learning experience for anyone passionate about both software and hardware systems, and gaining insights into how a company that integrates both operates -- a rare and rewarding opportunity.

Specific Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop a web-based tool for configuring our HPC appliances, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience.
  • Build a backend that models complex constraints to ensure compatible configurations across hardware, networking, and software components.
  • Work closely with various teams to gather technical requirements and distill them into actionable development tasks.
  • Generate detailed outputs including BOM, rack layouts, cable port mappings, and more, ensuring physical accuracy of system configurations.
  • Understand and incorporate customer requirements to allow flexibility while ensuring proper system constraints are met.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Strategy & Consulting, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering or other Computer Science/Engineering related programs
  • Strong web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and backend programming (e.g., Python, Node.js).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage complex configuration logic.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and requirement gathering.

Preferred

  • Understanding of high-performance computing (HPC) systems or data centre configurations.
  • Experience with product management tasks or working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Knowledge of network switches, server hardware, and data centre infrastructure.

Cerebras Systems is committed to creating an equal and diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate different backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We believe inclusive teams build better products and companies. We try every day to build a work environment that empowers people to do their best work through continuous learning, growth and support of those around them.
