About the role
As the Director, Marketing Analytics for all Auctane brands, you will play a pivotal role in transforming diverse marketing data streams into actionable, prescriptive insights that fuel strategic decision-making across our global marketing efforts. Your key responsibility will be to proactively guide the marketing organization in optimizing performance by identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges. More than just analyzing data, you will provide strategic recommendations to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives, ensuring maximum efficiency and impact.
Leading a team of marketing analytics experts, you will foster a high-performing, data-driven culture, empowering your team to make informed decisions and deliver clear, actionable insights. Your leadership will drive the team's ability to forecast, optimize, and improve marketing strategies and tactics across all channels. Your mandate includes collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring analytics insights are seamlessly integrated into the broader marketing and data ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in marketing analytics with strategic vision and strong leadership capabilities. Your proven ability to deliver measurable business impact through data insights, coupled with your project management skills, will be critical in advancing Auctane’s marketing efforts. You will wield data as a powerful strategic tool, propelling our brands forward in a competitive and fast-moving marketplace.
This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, Texas
What will you be doing?
- Optimize Marketing Performance Through Prescriptive, Data-Driven Insights and Advanced Analytics Techniques
- Conduct proactive deep-dive analyses of marketing initiatives to understand performance drivers, uncover new growth opportunities, and apply advanced data science techniques to maximize impact.
- Move beyond descriptive analytics by incorporating prescriptive methods and marketing science principles to provide forward-looking recommendations for optimizing marketing strategies, including adjusting channel spend, website optimization, and experimentation.
- Build, enhance, and maintain sophisticated forecasting and driver-based models to predict future performance and support scenario planning, enabling marketing teams to simulate the impact of various strategies and tactics while making informed decisions based on robust data science methodologies.
- Translate complex insights into actionable recommendations by leveraging automated systems, dynamic algorithms, and advanced analytical approaches to optimize campaigns and strategies in real time as market conditions evolve.
- Foster and Lead a High-Performance Advanced Marketing Analytics Team
- Manage and mentor a team of Marketing Analysts dedicated to transforming marketing performance data into actionable insights, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to stay updated on industry trends, advanced analytics techniques, and emerging automation tools.
- Guide the team's efforts to proactively identify optimization opportunities, combining traditional analysis with advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and code-based solutions to drive accuracy and efficiency in marketing performance evaluation.
- Facilitate collaboration across the team and departments, encouraging cross-functional projects that integrate advanced analytics and marketing science, fostering a blend of creativity and data-driven insights for innovative problem-solving.
- Enhance Reporting Processes with Automation and Code-Based Solutions
- Direct the development of automated, code-driven measurement frameworks that align with Auctane’s business and marketing objectives, freeing up time for deeper analysis while ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely delivery of key metrics (in accordance with data definitions accepted across the business).
- Design user-friendly reporting systems that distill complex data and marketing science insights into actionable insights, enabling technical and non-technical stakeholders to easily understand and act on the data.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports that provide ongoing visibility into key marketing metrics, leveraging automation to reduce manual intervention.
- Continuously optimize reporting processes, using code to automate recurring reports, streamline ad-hoc analysis, and ensure the timely delivery of accurate data insights.
- Use historical data (internal and external) and trends to forecast future performance, offering prescriptive insights on the optimal deployment of upcoming marketing initiatives.
- Drive Cross-Functional Data Alignment Across GTM functions
- Regularly present actionable insights to stakeholders, including senior leadership, using clear, concise reports, dashboards, and presentations that highlight key trends and recommendations.
- Collaborate with marketing operations, data definitions committee, and internal/external partners to monitor and resolve data quality issues, ensuring data consistency and reliability in order to maintain consistency across all marketing data streams and platforms.
- Promote a Data-Driven Culture by continuously advocating for data-driven decision-making across the organization, demonstrating the value of analytics in informing strategic and tactical decisions, and building trust in data as a key asset.
- Leverage automated tools to continuously monitor data integrity, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure seamless integration of data across the organization.
What are we looking for?
- Masters Degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or any quantitative discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with a proven track record of delivering insights and recommendations that drove measurable business impact
- Minimum of 5-7 years of directly managing analytics professionals
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large and complex datasets, including advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL
- Expert knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar
- Proven track record of working within marketing automation platforms and tools such as Marketo, HubSpot, Eloqua, or similar, as well as Salesforce and Salesforce reporting tools
- In-depth familiarity with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data and insights into clear and concise reports and presentations
- Statistical programming experience in R, Python, RStudio
- Expertise in statistical analysis around A/B/multivariate testing, incrementality tests
- Familiarity with multitouch and marketing mix models
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to question the staquo, test-and-learn and look for continuous improvement opportunities
